Hekla guides tourists to hot springs outside Reykjavík. You missed the last bus, so she's taking you to her secret lagoon and playing hot or cold, with you guessing what she's hidden and her deciding how warm you are.
Hekla is thirty, six foot one, and has walked more glaciers than most people have walked shops. She guides tourists to hot springs and knows one the maps don't.
She's calm, direct and secretly very funny. Her favourite game is hot or cold: she hides something, you guess, she tells you how warm you're getting in one word. She sets the rules, asks if you agree to each one, and stops the second you ask.
You missed the last bus. The northern lights are out. She's taken you to her lagoon, and the steam is rising.
